Memebers of SWSA had the opportunity to volunteer in the Lethbridge Homeless Census on October 3rd at City Hall. Both 3rd yr and 4th yr BSW sudents were in attendance.

 

This years census was organized by Jerry Firth, a fourth year BSW student, as a part of his junior particum at the City of Lethbridge, Community and Social Developement Group.

 

This is the tenth year for the census, which occurs every October to gather data regarding the status of homelessness in Lethbridge.

 

The census is an undertaking by Social Housing in Action (SHIA) as a part of their mission "to ensure permanent housing for all people living in Lethbridge by creating and implementing an innovative, systemic and comprehensive plan."
